BRANTFORD, Ont. – This past weekend, Laurier Brantford Athletics & Recreation was proud and excited to partner with Laurier Alumni to host Brantford's first-ever Brantford student exclusive Homecoming sport performance with an Extramural Alumni Basketball Game.

We welcomed back a team of Alumni Extramural basketball players to play our current 2022 Extramural Men's Basketball team. From the moment of tip off to the nail-biting final 20 seconds of the game, the energy in the Hawk Dome gymnasium was unmatched. The entire game was a well-balanced challenge of old vs new, showing that the Golden Hawk spirit never does leave your blood even once you hang up the jersey!

We congratulate our current Extramural Men's Basketball team on snatching the big W with a 57-56 take from the Alumni team!

Our Alumni team was made up of a variety of past Golden Hawks, dating as far back as our 2012 team. They took to the court as though they never left it, showcasing what it truly means to be a Golden Hawk. Top Alumni scorers of the game include #15 Taran Hoogsteen with 15 points, #3 Andrew Kamenz with 12 points and #12 Matthew Wright with 7 points. Top Extramural scorers of the game include #6 Jamie Kirsch with 9 points, #4 Darius Bachanan with 8 points, #11 Devanye Afriyie with 8 points and #15 Paul Cate with 8 points.

We would like to thank all our attendees, Student Leaders, facility staff, volunteers, Alumni partners, Student Affairs and Student's Union for all your support and positive energy within the event. It felt so good to have the Golden Hawk spirit come back to life with our first hosted event of the year. We look forward to many more of these in the future!
