Athlete Registration  

Prior to participating in any sanctioned Sport Club activity, all Club members must first register through our Registration portal.
 

Sport Club Fees  

Sport Club Athlete Participation Fee: This fee is standard across all Sport Clubs and is collected by the Athletics & Recreation Department to re-disperse to Sport Clubs in the form of funding. This fee also covers the cost of an Athletic Banquet ticket for each participating Club member.  
Sport Club Team Fee: This fee varies from Club to Club depending on the expected commitments. The Team Fee, combined with Fundraising revenue, is used to cover all expenses taken on by the Sport Club for the year.  
Fundraising: Fundraising is organized by Sport Clubs and is completed throughout the year to offset expenses incurred through Sport Club activity.

Coaches 

Where applicable, Coaches can be brought on to support the Sport Club team. Coaches are here to help guide student-athletes in building their skill level while Club Presidents are responsible for organizing the Club. They are dedicating their time and energy to help our Sport Club programs and are valued and respected members of the Athletics and Recreation team.  
 
If you have any issues with a member/your Club, please discuss this with your Coach, Sport Club President or the Rec Program Student Leader. 
 

Competitions 

Sport Club competitions will be take throughout the year for any Sport Clubs that plan to compete in events of their choosing.    
 

Facilities 

Extramural activity takes place in numerous facility spaces. It is expected that student-athletes respect all spaces and adhere to their user guidelines and policies.  

Laurier Brantford YMCA  

  • No bags and shoes on the gymnasium court floors. All must be placed in a locker. 
  • One card is required for access through the Membership Services desk. 
  • Private team change rooms can we arranged if you would prefer.  
  • Facility bookings are assigned based on other programming and availability. Time slots are defined and it is expected that they are adhered to.  

External Facility Spaces 

  • Examples include dance studios, cheerleading training facilities, ice rink areas, etc.  
  • Facility bookings are assigned based on other programming and availability. Time slots are defined and it is expected that they are adhered to. 
  • Follow all rules and regulations set out by the external facility.
      

Alcohol & Drugs 

Laurier Brantford Athletics & Recreation has a ZERO tolerance policy on the consumption of alcohol or drugs PRIOR TO or DURING any scheduled sporting event or practice.  

Fair Play & Code of Conduct

Overall: there is ZERO tolerance for any form of harassment, discrimination or abusive behaviour. 
 

Concussion Protocol  

Concussion education, awareness and management is extremely important in the world of sports and recreation. Please review the following documents and resources that are available to you:

If you have any Concussion concerns, please reach out to the Rec Program Student Leader and the Wellness Centre on campus to book an appointment with a doctor for review.
