OCR FAIR PLAY TEAM OF THE TOURNAMENT AWARD GUIDELINES

SELECTING & AWARDING THE OCR FAIR PLAY TEAM OF THE TOURNAMENT
When selecting a Fair Play Team of the Tournament it will be helpful if your game officials or timers/scorers are evaluating each team’s behavior in all games and commenting on the back of the score sheets. Use the points #1-8 above for evaluation criteria. Teams with players/coaches ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED for the Fair Play Team Award. It is crucial to award a team at the tournament for their Fair Play, however THIS IS AN AWARD THAT MUST BE WARRANTED. Do not automatically award it to the team that finishes last, or the team that does not win a game, if they did not exhibit Fair Play qualities during the entire tournament. If the team that won your tournament did so as the Fair Play team of the tournament and all other teams were not worthy of the award, then present them with the Fair Play Team of the Tournament. Presenting the Fair Play Team of the Tournament t-shirts in a manner so that all other teams will see the award presentation, will increase the level of Fair Play in all future extramural events. Be sure to take a photo of the Fair Play Team of the Tournament winners!
