Brantford: ON - November 14th was the start of a brand new volleyball season for our Extramural athletes, who were coming off a terrific 2024-25 season where they rallied off three tournament victories in four attempts. 

Despite a much younger roster this year, our Golden Hawks showed great chemistry and hard work in their opening tournament of the season, which was hosted at our very own LBYMCA.

The scores from the day were as follows:

Game 1 vs DC/OT2:

22-25, 24-25

Game 2 vs Humber:

25-15, 17-25, 15-14

Game 3 vs Mohawk:

25-14, 24-25, 15-9

Game 4 vs DC/OT1:

11-25, 19-25

Consolation Finals vs Humber:

18-25, 21-25

The day was highlighted with a 3-set thriller in their second game of the day, before coming up just short against Humber in the consolation finals. Despite the loss, our Hawks showed great promise and played terrific volleyball in their opening tournament of the year. Veteran player Colby Ayres was named Laurier Brantford Athlete of the Week for his strong play and leadership.

Our volleyball team continues their season after the new year where they'll head to Mohawk on January 29th for their next tournament.
