Last Saturday, October 12th, Laurier Brantford's Cross Country team headed to Scarborough to take on their fourth race of the 2024 season, the Centennial College Invitational.
The women's team saw
Kennedy Finch lead the way, placing 14th with a time of 27:45 on the 6km course. Mya Baxter placed 29th with a time of 31:56, Isabel Uribe Perez placed 31st with a time of 34:10, and Lauren Kuivenhoven placed 37th with a 35:14.
The men's team saw
Jackson Rice finish 12th overall on the 8km course, earning a time of 27:51. Following was
Jagdeep Singh, placing 46th with a time of 34:33. The Golden Hawks then saw four runners place in four consecutive spots, with Alex Capolongo,
Kirby Blackman, Todd Pearson, and
Ethan Firsoff finish in 51st, 52nd, 53rd, and 54th place, respectively. These four runners finished with times of 35:48 (Capolongo), 36:30 (Blackman), 37:41.3 (Pearson), and 37:41.5 (Firsoff).
With the invitational races now over, provincials are right around the corner.
The team will enjoy their extra week off before heading to Seneca College on October 26th to compete in the 2024 Provincial Championships.
